“WHAT’S RELEVANT WITH IMb for 2015”

Hosted by the MSMA Washington Metro Chapter, MSMA’s Chapter of the Year
Thursday, April 16, 2015
10:00am to 1:30pm
USPS JCTM Process & Distribution Center (formerly Brentwood Post Office)

We are excited to have Marsha Campbell, Manager of Business Mail Entry as our guest speaker and to bring us up to date regarding “What’s Relevant with IMb for 2015.” This timely USPS information is presented FREE at the USPS JCTM Process & Distribution Center (formerly Brentwood Post Office). Come to our Spring Membership Meeting and see what MSMA is all about and why we were awarded “Chapter of the Year.” If you are on a limited schedule or budget we have the option of lunch, at a small cost, following the presentation. Please see our options and agenda below. This meeting will be followed by our Chapter Executive Board meeting in which members are invited to attend to not only find out what goes on behind the scenes but to participate in the process as well.

Presentation: What’s Relevant With IMb for 2015

This presentation will include the (IMb) Intelligent Mail barcode requirements and the role it plays in the processing, sorting and tracking of letters and flats. In addition, the new (IMpb) Intelligent Mail package barcode requirements will be presented for packages and parcels. Additionally, the new rates and changes scheduled for implementation in April, 2015 will be discussed.

Speaker: Marsha Campbell, Manager of Business Mail Entry, USPS Capital District

Ms. Campbell has been a postal employee for over 32 years including working through many levels of Business Mail Entry. She started her Postal Career as a Christmas Casual in 1981 and then continued on as a Scheme Clerk, Registered Mail Clerk and a Flat Mail Clerk where she was detailed as a Bulk Mail Technician for a number of years prior to becoming the official Supervisor of Business Mail Entry for the Capital District in 1987. Ms. Campbell comments, “I take pride in learning the different aspects of the mailing industry and finding ways to assist customers with the different mailing programs and tools (Mail Prep/Mail Design). This contributes to determining the most cost effective program for the customer (i.e. work sharing aspect) while ensuring the USPS collects the proper fees for each mailing. In addition, mailings prepared according to postal standards allow swift and proper handling throughout the mail stream.”
