THE EVENT OF THE YEAR IS HERE! 

We are inviting current members and industry professionals to our “Second Annual Member Appreciation Lunch and Learn Meeting” on the Potomac aboard the Odyssey III in cool air-conditioning. For this special event we are honored to have as our Guest Speaker, Denise Love, Departmental Mail Program Manager, U.S. Department of Labor. We will also be honoring three DC Chapter members, Derrick Miliner, Alonso Abugattas and Romerio Moreno. They are truly DC Chapter pioneers that helped bring our Chapter to the success we see today. Derrick and Alonso have both recently retired from their longtime positions at the General Services Administration and PitneyBowes/Novetex respectively. MSMA National Area Manager, Nick Staffieri will also be in attendance.  This will be an event to remember with old and new friends, education, networking, excellent food, beautiful views and a FUN TIME, as well.

PRESENTATION: “Survive or Thrive, in the Midst of Change.” 

SPEAKER:  Denise Love, Departmental Mail Program Manager, U.S. Department of Labor

Denise Love has over 33 years of working experience in the mail industry and is well known in the Washington, DC Mail Community.  She started her mail career with the United States Postal Service in Boston, Massachusetts moving up to Station Manager then to Marketing Account Representative before taking the position of Operations Specialist, and then Marketing Specialist at Postal Headquarters in Washington, D.C.  After 21 years with the USPS she took the position of Federal Mail Program Manager at the GSA, Government-wide Policy Office.

Denise Love currently serves as the Departmental Mail Program Manager for the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL).  She develops and manages large projects of strategic importance across 23 plus agencies within the DOL and is responsible for a full range of operations and policy development for the mail program that supports internal and external business clients. Within the DOL she has also served as the Division Chief for the Office of Management Support Services.

Throughout her career, Denise has served on numerous interagency councils and committees, workgroups, focus groups, conference Co-Chairs and more in her areas of expertise.  She currently serves on the Board of the Baltimore Postal Customer Council.

The Event: The Odyssey III departs at 12:00noon from Gangplank Marina at the corner of 6th and Water Streets and arrives back at 2:00pm. We will have a private room for our onboard meeting. A three course plated lunch is included with coffee, tea and ice tea; other beverages are extra, and a Jazz Trio for a casual atmosphere. The dress is business casual. EARLY-BIRD EXTENDED through Monday, AUG 3rd: price $45 for members and $65 for non-membersAfter Monday, AUG 3rd: price $60 for members and $75 for non-members. These special discounted prices are courtesy of the MSMA Washington Metro Chapter. Become a member and receive the member rate, only $25 for the last quarter. All registrations must be received and paid up front by August 10thWalk-ups and pay-at-the-door will not be accepted.  Every payment will be confirmed back to the registrant. Boarding tickets will be issued at the Marina starting at 11:15am.
